Finishes designated as 'Lifetime' carry a limited lifetime finish warranty guaranteeing them not to tarnish, flake, or pit for as long as the original purchaser occupies the residence.Non-Lacquered Brass, Vintage Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, and Distressed Oil Rubbed Bronze are considered living finishes. They are designed to change in color with time and use, growing in character as they do. Typically, these finishes will lighten where they are frequently touched and darken where they are not touched. Oil Rubbed Bronze and Distressed Oil Rubbed Bronze can be treated with a thin coat of 3-In-One-Oil every few months to help preserve the original finish if desired. Non-Lacquered Brass can be polished back to like-new condition with metal polish. A high-quality wax metal polish can be used to help preserve the original finish if desired. Clean only with a soft, non-abrasive cloth dampened with warm water. Mild diluted dish soap may be used if needed. Dry thoroughly. Do not use cleaning chemicals or disinfectants as they may damage the finish.

Mechanical Warranty:

Except as otherwise provided below, Spectrum Brands, Inc., for its Baldwin® hardware brand products (“Baldwin”), warrants to the original residential purchaser (the “Purchaser”) that each Baldwin Estate product (the “Product(s)” or “Baldwin Product(s)”) shall be free of mechanical defects under normal use from the date of purchase for as long as the Purchaser occupies the residential premises upon which the Product was originally installed (“Warranty Period”). This Mechanical Limited Warranty applies only to Products purchased from Baldwin or a Baldwin authorized reseller, unless otherwise prohibited by law. Baldwin Products are legitimately sold only by authorized resellers who are required to follow Baldwin’s policies, procedures, and quality control standards. Baldwin reserves the right to reject warranty claims from purchasers for Products purchased from unauthorized sellers, including unauthorized Internet sites.

Electronic Warranty:

Baldwin Estate electronic products come with a 1 year electronic warranty to the original residential user of the product against defects in material and workmanship as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed. This warranty does not cover scratches, abrasions, deterioration due to the use of paints, solvents or other chemicals, abuse, misuse, or product used in commercial applications. This Electronic Limited Warranty applies only to Products purchased from Baldwin or a Baldwin authorized reseller, unless otherwise prohibited by law. Baldwin Products are legitimately sold only by authorized resellers who are required to follow Baldwin’s policies, procedures, and quality control standards. Baldwin reserves the right to reject warranty claims from purchasers for Products purchased from unauthorized sellers, including unauthorized Internet sites.

Finish Warranty:

Finish Limited Warranty: The finish on Baldwin Products (excluding Lifetime PVD Finish and living finish Products, as set forth below) is protected by a durable topcoat designed to maintain the beauty and quality of the Baldwin Product. For Baldwin Estate Products purchased with a Finish Limited Warranty other than the Lifetime PVD Finish Limited Warranty or a living finish, Baldwin warrants to the Purchaser that the finish of the Product shall be free of defects in material and workmanship from tarnishing, flaking, and discoloring for either (a) five (5) years from the date of purchase for interior use or (b) one (1) year from the date of purchase for exterior use; as long as said Purchaser occupies the residential premises upon which the Product was originally installed (“Warranty Period”). No finish warranty is offered on Baldwin living finish products, which are designed to age and improve over time. Living finishes include raw brass, oil rubbed bronze, stainless steel, and other non-lacquered or non-PVD finishes. Atmospheric conditions can cause staining and alkaline etching that varies by geography. In addition, frequent use will cause the finish to gracefully age in appearance. These finish changes are not considered manufacturing defects and are not covered by this warranty. Rather, they are indicative of normal wear and tear and reflect the essence of a living finish. Due to the nature of Baldwin living finish products, they will wear over time and may already have begun the process before reaching your home.
