CLEANING
Bronze or Brass whether it is a living finish, lacquered, or plated should be cleaned with a soft, non-abrasive cloth dampened with clean water. Wipe dry with a soft, nonabrasive cloth. Water residue should not be left on the product as chemicals or minerals contained within may damage the protective coating and degrade the finish.

Important: Do not use any abrasive or non-abrasive cleaners or solvents, whether chemical or organic, to clean the products as they may degrade or remove the patina completely.

LIVING FINISHES
Ashley Norton products go through a multi-step process to make our finishes durable, resistant and long lasting. Dark Oil Rubbed (8), Venetian Bronze (6), Polished Nickel (4B), Unlacquered Brass (3U), Dark Bronze (BZ), White Bronze (WL), Light Bronze (LT), White Medium (WM) are dynamic finishes. These will take on unique as age, climate and touch works their charm, creating an ever-changing patina.

Living finishes are designed to age naturally over time. The effects of age, climate, and use will work in conjunction to create unique, contrasted color variations. The most frequently handled areas will highlight as the patina wears off and natural shades of the bronze and brass are exposed. Untouched areas may oxidize further and the combination of colors and hues will accentuate the timeless elegance of the base material.

How quickly this process occurs is dependent upon usage and environmental factors such as climate. The natural aging process will allow the underlying base metal to show through along areas of wear. If you'd like to preserve your living finish, you can apply a light coating of liquid Carnauba wax to the product with a soft cloth. Perform this periodically - frequency will depend on the specific conditions and location of the installation.

SOLID BRONZE HARDWARE

Mechanical Warranty 
Ashley Norton Inc. extends a 10 year mechanism warranty to the original residential purchaser, providing the product has been installed in strict accordance with our installation instructions. The only obligation of Ashley Norton Inc. will be to repair or replace the defective product or parts upon presentation, together with proof of purchase dated within the warranty period. We assume no liability for any labor charges regarding the removal or reinstallation of the products; nor will we cover any freight, postage, or handling expense. This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, tampering, extreme climatic conditions, improper installation or products used in commercial applications.

Finish Warranty 
Our bronze patinas are ‘living finishes’ and may lighten, highlight, oxidize or rub off in places due to frequency of use; therefore, such events do not constitute a defect. 

Thus Ashley Norton Inc., cannot guarantee our Bronze and Matt Black finishes and therefore, Ashley Norton Inc. will not have any obligation to repair or replace such finishes under this warranty.


SOLID BRASS HARDWARE

Residential Warranty
Ashley Norton Inc. extends a 10 year mechanism warranty to the original residential purchaser, providing the product has been installed in strict accordance with our installation instructions. This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, tampering, extreme climatic conditions, improper installation or products used in commercial applications.

Finish Warranty - External Use
Lacquered finishes will deteriorate when exposed to the atmosphere, particularly salt air, direct sunlight and pollution. Plated finishes will endure these conditions longer than lacquered finishes, however even these will not remain unaffected by the environment. Our oil rubbed finishes are living finishes and will age naturally. Ashley Norton cannot guarantee finishes where used externally.

Finish Warranty - Internal Use
When used internally, Ashley Norton Inc. extends 10 year warranties as indicated to the original residential purchaser and limited to the location where the product was originally installed. The finish warranty does not cover scratches, abuse, mis-use, accident, external use, or where the product has been used in a commercial application.

Our Dark Oil Rubbed (8/DOR) and Venetian Bronze (6) patinas are ‘living finishes’ and may lighten, highlight, oxidize or rub off in places due to frequency of use; therefore, such events do not constitute a defect. Our Polished Nickel (4B/PNI) and Unlacquered Brass (3U) finishes are not lacquered and may tarnish due to environmental exposure. Thus Ashley Norton Inc., cannot guarantee our Dark Oil Rubbed (8/DOR), Venetian Bronze (6), Polished Nickel (4B/PNI) or Unlacquered Brass (3U) finishes and therefore, Ashley Norton Inc. will not have any obligation to repair or replace such finishes under this warranty.
